About
BlogSoop organizes blogger restaurant reviews - formerly scattered all over the web - into a searchable restaurant database. In doing so, we provide easy access to more in depth restaurant information than any other resource. At BlogSoop you can search for restaurants or you can browse for restaurants. By default, restaurants are sorted by the number of blogger posts - those restaurants with the most reviews will show up highest. Users are also able to browse recently reviewed restaurants. BlogSoop is regularly updated. To access a blogger’s full review click on the summary text. We’ve provided an image count (that’s the Kodak icon) as well. Users can rate a post based on its helpfulness and rate a restaurant based on their dining experience. Once registered, friends of BlogSoop are able to leave comments using a live chat feature we call TalkSoop. BlogSoop was officially launched in New York City in March 2007. We've since expanded to San Francisco and more recently Los Angeles. I hope you enjoy the site and the bloggers featured herein. I'd like to thank the food blogging community for their continued support. I've met a lot of great people in the course of this project. I'd also like to thank Maegan of Dolanite Design. Feel free to get in touch with me. _______________ How to use BlogSoop The Blog at BlogSoop

Fascinating aggregation of restaurant reviews, Doug. Though some of my posts are about markets, fairs and festivals, takeout joints, street food, and whatnot, would you consider adding my blog, http://www.EatingInTranslation.com, to the mix? Thanks.

It is clear that Batali is a hypocritical, pompous ass. I've written a detailed response to his inane comments about bloggers on FoodMayhem: http://www.foodmayhem.com/2007/07/batali-hates-il-bloggeros.php

Thanks Eric. Its certainly a complicated issue which people are only starting to deal with. The woman who used to cut my hair and my dentists have both lost their leases in lieu of rent increases.

Great piece on East Harlem. The gentrification vs. renewal debate is a favorite topic of mine. I've read some about what's going on Harlem, but the personal perspective and the well-chosen photos help to give me a better sense of this neighborhood "in transition." Thanks for the post.

Thanks for stopping by my site, Doug. I'm happy to support BlogSoop and have added your canned widget. It reminds me of the Andy Warhol I never knew, not even for 15 minutes. Good luck!

Sarcasm is NOT appreciated here at Blogsoop - and that, RissaRachel, is why I was so DELIGHTED to see your happiness in being awarded this book! Congrats! (don't read it all in one place)

Thanks, thanks. I am flattered beyond belief that my comments have been awarded the grand mediocre prize. Hi Sam. Thanks! You're in luck as San Francisco will be the next city added. We have the acquired the restaurant database and are in the process of adding reviews. We input both new and archived posts; carefully gathering the archived posts takes some time.

great idea - someone tried to do something similar in SF over a year ago but clearly their system was not automated or web2.0 enough. I am curious - are you going to expand this? would love this service in San Francisco. good luck with it! sam ps - are you also inputting old posts from archives or only newly written ones?

Hi Gentleman. I first select those blogs I feel are worthy of the Soop. We then track down all the reviews and upload them. We regularly monitor the sites for all the newest reviews.
