He was tired and wanted to lay down, cuddle, just “be.” She conceded, but with visible reluctance. “I want to go home,” she said quietly moments later. She was searching the ceiling for support. As any manifestation of gender-specific genetic defect does, drama comes naturally to her as a woman, and yet she was valiantly fighting a basic instinct that would have had her shouting the phrase right at him with indignation... 17th St. Cafe... what's that? Brunch on Montana Ave sans crowd?

Welcome to Montana Ave in Santa Monica, where you can throw a stone into Brentwood or at the local granola hipsters. If you haven't been to this part of town, you really shouldn't miss it. It's the LA neighborhood that best answers Town & Country magazine and trendy LA standards all at the same time. That said, with an atmosphere like that, brunch on the weekends is pretty crowded...except at the 17th St. Cafe this past Saturday. We showed up at about 11:30am this weekend (that's right...we slept in) and were quite sure we were doomed... FULL REVIEW
