Deadline's finally here~ Busy times made me appreciate the French bistro next door more. This is today's special: Salmon Cakes $10 Surprisingly good! The salmon are very moist and flavored that the sauce wasn't really needed.

Bitterness and frustration rushed upon me whenever I saw the 'Bistro du Soleil' sign...WHAT SOLEIL!? When is this storm going to STOP!? >O< The non-stop heavy pouring rain for the past couple weeks (since holiday) spoiled my holiday, weekends and spirit. :( What happened to the the ever-so-dry sunshine city that never rain? The worst part is that driving has became so much more dangerous and difficult. This morning it took me 2+ hours since the freeway traffic was 5 mph ALL the way. X-0 My boss got stuck at home because the canyon he lives in was severely flooded with mudslide danger. A fellow freelancer arrived at almost 1pm as he was stuck in freeway for 4 hours (Freeway 5, which went through the mountain, is crippled by mudslide). He said his friend's design studio in Hollywood (an old building) leaked water and destory the G5 + the 30'' monitor right underneath. The wind is so strong near the beach that even with my 'big bottom' I fear of being blew away. I have this paranoia that the houses right up on the hill will fall with mudslide and ran down that little beach house/office. ^^;;; I don't want to drive anymore for lunch so I grew a habit of eating at the Sun Bistro right next door once or twice a week.

Two days worth of lunch back at the Sun Bistro. I have to work post-Christmas (only Joan got holiday). Despite I said their food are no good last time, their cozy all-wood interior is too nice so I tend to go there for lunch break. They have this $8 soup du jour + salad combo so I can anticipate different soup each day. ^^;; Again their problem is the lack of subtlety: either taste too strong, too salty and intense or absolutely no taste. Right: Zucchini soup with a touch of curry Left: Cream of Mushroom. The soups are very thick and stomach-filling. The strong taste satisfied the "salty-bug" in me ^^;;

Nearby my office (less than 20 steps), there's a cute casual French restaurant~~ It reminded me of this, small little family business. It's on a slope. I LOVE the interior, the wood walls, mirrors, menus written on glass windows...so beautiful~~ *_*
