A Quick Trip to BouleBy Alli 411 Nov 12, 2008I stopped by Boule the other day, David Myers' patisserie, just across the street from his fab restaurant Sona. They have some great new items for fall. They were already sold out of the Pumpkin Bread. A Caramelized Hazelnut Brioche looked tasty. They have new macaroon flavors: a pear and rosemary combo cleverly named Partridge and a Vanilla Bean Cheesecake. The guy behind the counter said that 5 new chocolates will be debuting this month. The Miso Vegan Chocolate one he described sounded, well, er.. different. I had an iced coffee and bought a baguette to go. The iced coffee was better than the baguette, a bit too chewy. I'll... FULL REVIEWBoule on La CienegaBy Mikey Hates Everything Nov 21, 2007So after visiting Vito's the other day I strolled down La Cienega Blvd. and came across an adorable pastry/ice cream/chocolate shop called Boule. My French-speaking friend had to correct me after I pronounced it "Boo-LAY." Apparently it sounds more like "bull," but as if your lips were stuck with a spoonful of peanut butter. "Boo~ll" Prices are a tad steep; I laid down more cash for this dainty carrot cake ($~6??), above, than for my pizza dinner. But if you can overlook the financial setback then you're in store for a treat. It's very light, moist and packed with fresh shreds of carrots, (I think) zucchini, and a touch of spice....
