The Counter-Irvine

I went to The Counter in Santa Monice and really enjoyed their burgers. So when I heard they opened up a location in Irvine, I figured why not try it again. At The Counter you pick what type of burger you want. You have a choice of turkey, beef, or veggie. Then choose your cheese, toppings, and sauce. I picked the 1/3 lb beef burger, FULL REVIEW

When The Counter announced that their first O.C. franchise was debuting in Irvine, the anticipation was thicker than those beef patties I had already heard so much about. To the chowhound, its notoriety was familiar long before the ink dried on their Irvine Company lease. After all, the L.A. success story has been written-to-death on bulletin boards, gabbed about on Good Morning America, hip-checked on GQ. It was even on friggin' Oprah fer cryin' out loud! Short of butchering your own cow, The Counter's claim to fame is customer empowerment. Their burger is endlessly customizable. I'm talkin' the kind of control you didn't know... FULL REVIEW

Burgery goodness! A good meaty burger was just what we were all craving one Friday night, so we all met up at the Counter. The wait was long (the place is fairly small and trendy - so the crowds were thick) and once we sat down we were ready to GRUB! Perhaps due to stress recently, we craved burgers and fries more than usual? ^^;;The counter is a very interesting burger place, other than their regular menu which is filled with unqiue sounding burgers, you can custom made your own! Though due to pass failure, we decided to just go with burgers on the menu. ^^;; Sweet Potato Fries, pretty good too. Fried Pickle chips, I never had this before and it's delicious! Strawberry Malt and Coffee Malt (not in pix), taste just like regular milk shake to me ^^;;; FULL REVIEW

Built your own burger! Freda's Burger :D $6.95 Honey wheat bun, 1/3 lb. beef, caramelized onion marmarald, blue cheese, sauteed mushroom, hard boiled egg, mixed baby green and sprout. Result? Total failure...too much scattering volumetric pieces that simply won't hold together as a burger. The patty is very good though, medium rare~ FULL REVIEW
