Today's entry into the annals of What's To Eat LA is no stranger to awards or honorable mentions of many Los Angeles lists. Grub has the personality of a place that's supposed to be a hidden treasure, except everyone knows about it. Often appearing on many top breakfast and brunch spots, Grub is a place that has come to dominate in those categories. But why is the quaint Hollywood hotspot so well spoken of? It's in the details. I blogged about Grub long time ago, since then I've only had order-in from them at work from time to time (I usually get the Carnita wrap). My friend raved about their breakfast menu before so I have to give it try. The Bacon side order Jon got is delicious! The bacon seems to be cooked with BBQ sauce (?) so they got an extra sweet and salty flavor to them which I like a lot. I tried the French Toast which is quite different from what you normally get at other places. There're options of Crossaint and raisin bread and I chose crossaint. I'm not sure if crossaint works that well for french toast compare with regular toast, it's definitely different and interesting to try but the more I eat it the more I find it a bit too soggy for my liking. I like the side order of Chicken Sausage a lot, they're cook with Pesto sauce and bell peppers.

Grub's lunch menu is more interesting than its rather pedestrian breakfast fare; the food wasn't out of the ordinary, but service was top-notch and the waitresses fell in love with Blogger Baby.

Our office sometimes order-in from this place Grub when people are swamped with works and can't go out to eat. So couple of us actually went there for lunch to see how it's like. Surprisingly it's a very cute place! I like the basket of carrots, cucumber, tomato and pretzel, different from the usual bread. The onion soup isn't very good, good thing I only got a small cup. On the other hand the Tomato soup is great! Blueberry lemonade isn't so good, but I tried their Ginger Ale (not in pix) later and it's fantastic (there's actual ginger taste in it).
