NY Style: Joe's or Vito's Pizza?

I'm taking a break from posting my Japan travels because I've been on a pizza rampage. Hmm, okay hitting up two pizza joints may not qualify as a rampage but I'd say I've definitely been tearing through those cheesy slices like Godzilla. There's been a number of discussions on Chowhound about the best New York-style pizza in LA and I had to investigate. I've had pizza in Italy before and I must admit that I'm more a fan of New York's version. It's thin, crunchy, simple and sweet. Vito's is located in the nook of a white strip mall on La Cienega Blvd. just south of WeHo. Not quite a 'joint,' it's a small cozy sit-down place that might fit... FULL REVIEW

An almost forgotten entry, because I blogged about Joe's too much (1, 2, 3), I can't get enough of their Prix Fixe business 3 courses lunch set. I reserved a table of 2 to meet with my friend. Dessert: Strawberry, Grape and Coconut Sorbert I've been starving myself or eating very bland 'filling empty stomach' food late, therefore I was even more impressed by such a fine meal. And to think the entire course cost only $17...just almost too good to be true. FULL REVIEW

We decided here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch, after being disappointed at the menu choices of a nearby eatery. I've heard about this place a couple times from my friends who are locals to Santa Monica and Venice, but the name was so vague and default, "Joe's", that I couldn't tell anything about the restaurant by only the name. Brunch at Joe's~ a California French fusion place. The menu seems innovative, though we ought to dine there for their courses to really truly experience it. For brunch it came with these good banana bread and toast. The waiter who served us was so charming and handsome...o FULL REVIEW
