Markie D's Taste of Philly is a fun little chill place to come and grab some tasty cheese steak sandwiches. I will admit that they have there own take on it but maybe I grew up tasting impostor sandwiches (probably did). The cheese steaks are ever so slightly sweet! This in part is due to the fact that the onion are sweeter than what's usually in there. We grabbed a couple of cheesteaks on the way home from work with a side of onion rings(served w/their bbq sauce) and curly fries with CHEESE WHIZ! Both were a delight to our mouths. So tasty and so heart attack inducing. Sometimes you just have to live life on the edge... like drinking LA water. FULL REVIEW

In terms of full disclosure, I'm not from Philadelphia. I grew up on the East Coast, but living off the Chesapeake Bay and being Filipino, my palate steered heavily on seafood, garlic, vinegar and soy sauce. This isn't a bad thing. So my first real revelation in terms of cheesesteak was in the late '90s when a hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop in Pasadena next to a car wash started becoming a favorite of my college classmates and I. Philly Connection had everything a college kid could ask for: great food at a great price. The owner eventually got into marital discomfort we'll say and the shop moved once to Monrovia and then closed up for good. FULL REVIEW
