Valentine's Day Countdown 3 Parter: (pt.1) Ocean Ave. Seafood

Okay so I don't have any pictures for you this time around...I know...sometimes I'm just lazy. But what I'm doing right now is a 3 day countdown to Valentine's Day featuring much nicer and romantic places in mind. These places will cost more but they are worth every penny. With that said... Ocean Avenue Seafood is one of my favorite simple spots to hit as it's located right across the street from the ocean and has excellent seafood. Now I want you to know that when I say excellent seafood I mean superb! What's difficult to say is what's on there menu right now as it's always changing! Rest assured everytime I've gone I have been floored with whatever I have gotten. One thing I know they consistently have and is noted as a specialty is their lobster taquitos...mother of god...they're addicting! FULL REVIEW

Ocean Avenue Seafood is not a restaurant I would have picked out myself, but it wasn't a bad place to have someone else take me. The interior is nice and very warmly lit. The restaurant is quite large, and on a Friday night, it was sometimes hard to hear my friend over the general noise of the other diners. The service was polite and friendly, and the food was good, though it didn't wow me. I had ordered a caesar salad for an appetizer, and was disappointed to get whole hearts of romaine, which are very veiny (I don't like lettuce veins) and difficult to eat. I felt ridiculous cutting my salad with a fork and knife, but there was no other way to eat it. I enjoyed my salmon entree, but can't remember the specifics of it, and the online menu is incomplete. For dessert, I had a chocolate macadamia nut torte, which was tasty but became mysteriously tough and chewy while it sat there, waiting for me to eat it. FULL REVIEW
