Pistachio Grill...A hidden wonder on Wilshire

Pistachio Grill had been on my list of places of to try for what seems years. We moved into that neck of the woods about 5 years ago, give or take a few days, and had spotted it while scouting out our new surroundings. Not having yet had so much Persian food in my stomach's history, I always seemed to shuffle it back on my list. Sadly, I wasted a great deal of time and could also have saved a lot of frustration trying to find a local spot with a good price to value ratio. The restaurant, which by the way is... FULL REVIEW

Pistachio Grill

Alison and I tried a Persian lunch at Pistachio Grill mainly because it's one of the few ethnic restaurants within striking distance of my office. The Wilshire Blvd. location, next to the now-closed Cecchi Gori Fine Arts Theater, has easy street parking and is convenient to Wilshire Blvd.'s various screening rooms. Tucked in next to the theater, the restaurant has a shady patio with a tinkling fountain located well off the street. We started with the restaurant's signature pistachio hummus. Dryish and a bit gritty, it was not at all like the suave hummos at Mandaloun, for example, but it was tasty anyway. FULL REVIEW
