I'm a fan of all things light and healthy, but after I had my first vegan meal at Real Food Daily a couple years ago I was completely turned off to extremes. After eating their "meatloaf" plate my stomach started talking to me. The next day I stank some kind of nasty. I decided that'd be my first and last venture into veganism ...or so I thought. The other day, my friend invited me there again. And like the good sport (or chump?) I gave in. Luckily, we were joined by a real life vegan who'd been to RFD a dozen times, so he knew exactly what to order. The first being their nacho plate topped with guacamole, chopped tomatoes, olives,... Alrighty, a first for this site...a Vegan restaurant! This is Celeste, the often mentioned wife of Aubrey, and I'm reporting in since I enjoy...let just say...meatless cuisine far more than he does. As a disclaimer...our trip to this particular place was instigated by the many glowing reviews of it, even people who said they were staunch carnivores said that they loved it and couldn't tell... I’m an omnivore. I have had some food weirdness in the past, no dairy, no red meat, no mammals, but never fully vegetarian or anything close to vegan. Real Food Daily is very popular and almost always full, though I don't think the food itself is exactly the cause for its popularity so much as the concept behind the food. The food can be a bit hit-or-miss, especially if soy milk and tempeh aren't for you, but the stuff that hits is awfully good, and healthy, too. FULL REVIEW

Order to go from Real Food Daily, an organic vegetarian gourmet restaurant opened by the personal chef of Danny DeVito. The entire menu is all innovative veggie gourmet, but I bet you it can't compare to the Chinese Vegetarian restaurants (I've had a lot of really good ones). So I ordered the soup and special of the day. Holiday Fejitos Special $13.95 Letil Soup. MY GOD it is a NIGHTMARE!!! I thought ah-HA how interesting, Mexican food in v-version. The 'meat' are the bad tofu-meat, completely burnt. The sides are all very bad...totally reminded me of very bad trashy Mexcian food. The soup...so oily and tasteless. It's just horrible beyond words. I took only one bite and that's it. FULL REVIEW
