I had a $50 gift certificate to Tropicalia, which I got from pledging with KCRW back in August. I usually forget to use these things before they expire, so I was't going to let that happen again. They stipulated: That the gift certificate only be used on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Braziribs What I ordered: Appetizer: Empanadas (one chicken -- $2.29, one cheese and palmito -- $2.79) Maria: "Braziribs" (which, strangely, is trademarked) --... FULL REVIEW

Ah, Sundays...what is it that makes this day feel any different from the rest of the week? Could it be the Sunday paper (maybe the coupon section?). For some it's a day of rest and prayer, and Sunday family dinners, which can be a cure or torture for the Sunday hang-over. For me, Sundays use to be The Day of Rest after the weekend ritual of pulling off multiple club hopping all-nighters and recovering from sweet fatigue and loud music, back then it was a sign of a wonderful way of life. I was young(er), reckless and carefree, and I had an appetite for nightlife and all things associated with it which insightfully colored my existence like a giant morphing Alex Grey painting. My motto then was: Work hard. Play hard. Dance harder. I still live by that motto but not quite in the same frequency which I was once use to. These days I invest my energy in different places which all yield the same result: blissfully delcious satisfaction in every bite of daily life. FULL REVIEW
