Ray came home one night as asked where any good pizza places were. I started rattling off names gleaned from hours of Chowhound searching, including Casa Bianca in Eagle Rock. "No, I'm thinking something a little bit more nearby." I respond that there was the pizza joint in the Farmer's Market, and that there was also Damiano's across from Canter's. "Nah, I don't feel like going there." I then offer to drive he and Melissa to Larchmont Village to check out the pizzeria there, and all of a sudden he was game. Apparently, I was suckered into just being a chauffeur for the evening.

Five years ago, I was still in my twenties. Five years ago, I had a lot more energy; I went out a lot more, and went to bed a little later at night. Five years ago, I had pretty much just started going out with the love of my life. And five years ago I feel like I was a lot more naive and a lot less responsible. Tonight, I took a trip down a more recent memory lane and indulged in two of my favorite "five years ago" activities: shopping at Forever 21 and going for pizza in my old Larchmont/ Hancock Park neighborhood.

A few weeks ago, we went to the Pet Adoption Fair in Manchester. Seeing as I already have two cats - a polydactyl named Pumba and an all white cutie named Mochi - I was only there for support (and of course, to play with the animals on a nice Sunday afternoon!). MM, on the other hand, was on a mission - to find a life long partner, a best paw pal, someone whom she could call her own. It was love at first sight, so she says. Justin was it for her. When his doggy eyes met hers, she knew instantly that it was meant to be.
