Growing up, Chinese food was the standard Sunday night dinner. This is big among Jews. Not sure why. A lot of them have gone upscale to Japanese food. Much more costly. Last night we joined in those festivities with another family and had dinner at Nobu Next Door. FULL REVIEW

Next Door Nobu Japanese Restaurant New York

When Nobu opened back in the late 90s it was impossible to get a table. Guess what? It still is but fortunately there is Next Door Nobu. Another David Rockwell designed restaurant, Next door Nobu is a slightly more casual but just as expensive version of Nobu. There’s no reservations for parties of 6 or less and I’ve heard stories of people waiting around for 3 or 4 hours. I went a few weeks ago for a graduation party for my cousin. We had several of their classic dishes such as the Miso marinated grilled Black Cod The black cod basically melts in your mouth and there is a sweet honey like glaze over each morsel of the fish.
