I've mentioned Je'bon before, very briefly, and we liked it enough to try again. Of course, we're still ordering-in because I'm sick, so I haven't actually seen the restaurant yet. After reading several positive reviews on menupages about their signature dish, Je'bon, I definitely wanted to try it. It is a seafood noodle soup, packed with seafood (really large shrimp), a light fish broth, and very interesting noodles made with fish. The noodles maintained the chewiness that we love in flour noodles, yet added another dimension by tasting like fish. We also ordered the Aberdeen Noodles, also packed with nicely cooked... THE WEBSITE CLAIMS that Je'Bon is "The Jewel of St. Mark's Place!" I questioned that at first but then remembered that most establishments on St. Mark's are certainly not attempting for "jewel" status, so perhaps we'll grant Je'Bon its self-appointed title. Couldn't hurt. Our story, however, begins before Je'Bon. It actually begins a few day ago when I promised a week's worth of Passover recipes. I think I'm sticking on pace to make good on that promise. Today's recipe is a simple one, even simpler than yesterday's latkes, and improves on said... FULL REVIEW
