when i passed this place on thursday with neeraja, she pointed it out as good thai food AND byob. so when minca was TOO crowded last night (despite the 15 minute ridiculo-rain), clay, joy & i made our way here. (still disappointed about not having minca. will have to try again, at another time of day) from one of the most sparse thai menus i’ve ever seen, i had pad ki yow (or something like that) with duck. it was pretty good! but, nothing amazing. however, the price was decent ($9 for the duck version). clay tried it with crab, but that combination wasn’t as good. joy had some weird omelette like thing, but she said it was delicious. unfortunately, since we weren’t prepared, we weren’t able to do the byob. but perhaps next time. i’d want to double-check the byob status before trying it though. Kai Kai Thai

I went to a sort of hole-in-the-wall family owned and run Thai place in the East Village called Kai Kai Thai. There’s a Kai Kai on the west side too, but I don’t think they’re related. You should all check out the website because I’ve recently discovered that their menu portion comes equipped with pictures of each dish! I always thought all menus should do this, especially for tourists and people who don’t know the language or don’t know the cuisine, they can point and order. FULL REVIEW
