Large parties at Gyu-K is the way to go since the noise level exceeds intimate chat. My big fat group of friends put away a few orders of bi bim bop, tuna, shrimp, tofu, beef, chicken, kimchee and edamame. Much of the food was salt-infused but otherwise, rich in the korean/japanese fusian its known for. The portions are small so you'll end up raking out more $$$ than anticipated, but it's worth it if you enjoy BBQ. We were too full for dessert, but you could roast smores and fondue if u dare :)

Japanese BBQ. This reminds me of the korean BBQ, only the flavors are different, but I still get just as excited. Are there any Japanese BBQ buffets in New York like there are Korean BBQ buffets? Ill put Gyu-Kaku under my Korean restaurants list even though they claim to be a Japanese barbeque place because I thought they had more Korean-influenced items on their menu rather than yakitoris. They had several kinds of soups served in clay pots that taste like Korean chigaes, only udon or ramen noodles were added. They also offer a nice-sized bowl of bibimbap and most of their barbeques are kalbi, Korean short-ribs. I enjoyed their ahi tuna which we grilled and squirted lemon juice ourselves. FULL REVIEW
