nolita house is a small, cozy affair, made cozier and more charming with its chalkboard walls proclaiming its various nightly specials and generally interesting facts about the restaurant. housingworks claimed nolita house for its first guest bartending happy hour, so to NH i went, [...] FULL REVIEW

I had a meeting with one of the owners of Pioneer which is going to be bar number 1000 for me. I decided to scout out the area before meeting him and found a number of neat bars in the vicinity. FULL REVIEW

..to Nolita House. It’s Saturday night - 8:30 pm - and the tables are empty. Already not a good sign. We should have turned around and gone right out the door at that point and kept our $200 (for 4). Nonetheless, we gave it a go and were very disappointed. I mean who wouldn’t be excited by a menu that includes macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken wings and barbecue ribs? The ultimate in comfort food madness! Except they didn’t have any ribs because the meat was bad, the mac & cheese was dry…very dry… not a bit of oozy goodness to be found, and the chicken pot pie was a salt ridden joke. The chicken wings were good though. Granted, we didn’t check out the cheese selections which are the house specialty. My advice- have some wings at the bar and let me know how the cheese is.
