Kasi recommended Punch Punch a long time ago but for some reason I never got around to going. Well, I should have gone earlier since I really enjoyed my brunch this past Sunday and since it's close by, it's the perfect safety spot. Punch isn't going to blow your mind but they hit a couple of key points for a good brunch place: 1. Good Coffee - I hate letting a good brunch get spoiled by bad coffee. Punch not only serves a good tasting cup of coffee but refills your cup often. 2. Good Quick Breads - Most brunch spots offer muffins or a banana bread, or biscuits while you wait. Went for brunch. Remarkably uninspired bordering mediocre. This place simply doesn't fit in NYC. Manchester, New Hampshire - perhaps. Not here. My wife likes to call it an unremarkable meal...simply because we had to consult its menu to remember what we had. I had the brioche french toast that was supposed to come with banana and mission fig. Instead it was cut up pieces of banana and pineapple. My wife ordered the Canadian Bacon Omelet with melted onions and goat cheese. Don't bother going here for brunch. But I will return to check out the wine shop/bar upstairs. FULL REVIEW

Nine Hundred And Counting

Today I broke that that 900 bar mark and began the countdown through the final 100. When I started this adventure I had no doubt that I could successfully complete it, but I have to admit, looking back, I am somewhat amazed that I made it this far. I have come to realize that once I hit my final bar it will be with a sense of both pride and relief. FULL REVIEW
