PipaBy FoodMayhem Jan 17, 2008Pipa Pipa is one of the four eateries in ABC Carpet and Home on Broadway. I've eaten there several times in the past and have found it a consistently enjoyable experience of Spanish fare. The decor includes heavy wood tables and chairs on the floor and many antiquated-looking, gaudy chandeliers (with price tags) on the ceiling. Oddly, with so many lights, the large room is always very dark, so much so that Loren and I struggled to read the menu with the flicker of our little table votive. We also struggled with what to order, since everything on the menu sounded delicious (it changes regularly, and the online version is not up-to-date)!... FULL REVIEWTastes of TapasBy 52 Flavors of NYC Jun 30, 2007Well you may have guessed I would be a fan of tapas restaurants, given that I framed this blog as sampling the restaurants of NYC the way one would sample many dishes at a tapas restaurant...basically anything with many flavors is De-lish in my book! So much more interesting than a one-flavor meal... don't think I'll ever be a big fan of those one-dish casserole recipes! Have been to a few tapas restaurants in Manhattan, and this was my 2nd time to Pipa on 19th St. I remember liking it a lot the first time, and still agree the 2nd. It's got a plus in the ambiance department... FULL REVIEW
