Minado is a chain of Japanese All You Can Eat buffets. There was once a Minado in Manhattan but it closed less than 2 years ago and became Todai. There are still 5 locations on the East coast and my mom wanted to go to the fairly new location in Long Island. Minado They really have a huge selection, some good, some bad, some great. Generally, most proteins were quite good but the carb's stunk and that didn't make sense to me since I would expect them to want to encourage people to eat more of the carbohydrate items that are cheaper and more filling. Minado: It’s Not Us, It’s You

Oh Minado, how we wish things were different between us. We think back so fondly to a time, not so very long ago, when we would sometimes take out-of-town guests to your impressive buffet for a solidly good (but never excellent) sushi and Japanese feast. You were our one-stop solution to the picky-eater problem, and hell–your block-long steam table was pretty sexy. Rwarrr! But now, it’s over. Really and truly over… . FULL REVIEW
