Several years ago, you would have caught a glimpse of Leonardo DiCaprio dining at Bond St. Today, the bouncer in all-black suit is still standing outside and all the beautiful people are still inside but instead of Leo’s posse, you’ll see the suits and the loud groups of bankers eating on, most likely, company money. Ah, the life. We went one Wednesday night at 8:30pm without reservations. As soon as we asked for a spot for two, they led us to the sushi counter! Ah, the life of those without expense accounts! A few years ago, Bond St was the Japanese restaurant of the rich and famous. Every review mentioned the celebrities and fashion models one encountered there. It is still doing a healthy business, but you can land a reservation easily on OpenTable, and you score a 1,000-point bonus for requesting an off-peak time, which we did. FULL REVIEW

High-art sushi and sashimi are the calling cards of Bond St, a hot spot and hipster hang out disguised as a modern Japanese restaurant. Bold-faced named celebs and super models are the typical guests at this white-washed, airy restaurant and down in the dark and sexy lower level bar you’ll find more of the same. For all the hype though, Bond St. serves excellent sushi and sashimi and an extensive and inventive modern Japanese-influenced menu that stands up to the scene with impressive resolve. FULL REVIEW
