Medium rare, the basic burger ($5.75) was nice and juicy; for a little more, the "Bistro burger" adds bacon and American cheese to the standard lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. Fries ($2.50) were cold, mealy, and as bad as the burger was good, until heavily salted and covered in ketchup....

Clotilde just completed her book tour (I love the video of her giving a talk at Google) and I am honored to say that Craig and I were co-Chairman of the Official Welcoming Committee, ushering Mme. Clotilde to her first...

To all you Corner Bistro fans out there, I'm afraid I'm about to break some hearts. I like J.G. Melon's burgers better than Corner Bistro burgers.

Even in my ancestral homeland of Chicago, a town that is stamped on my D.N.A and etched in my heart, I have to face angry questions about my loyalties from New York haters. Diana probably wasn't very happy to navigate the unfamiliar area around Corner Bistro while being pelted with rain...but hey, she told me to make the recommendation. She asked for burgers? I GAVE HER BURGERS! Admittedly, the google map is a bit off; the restaurant is on the corner of West 4th and Jane, not randomly splodged on 8th Ave.

We put the fries on the burger (a common Blognut practice).

Just about the only place you’ll ever find me doing so, in fact, is the Corner Bistro, on the corner of West 4th Street and Jane St (at 8th Avenue).

Possibly the best burgers in New York City besides Le Parker Meridien’s, people wait at Corner Bistro not just for the $2.50 McSorley’s but also for the Bistro Burger, a slab of juicy beef so big you can barely flatten it to put in your mouth. The best part of it all is that it comes with crispy bacon and onions.

The great thing about food is that it can be as exciting as something like, say, birdwatching. I'm serious, birdwatching can be a complete adrenaline rush. Not that I particularly birdwatch, but think about the thrill of finding that elusive special rarely seen bird.
