My friend spent a year in Sweden during high school, and she’s gets nostalgic for Swedish food. The options in Manhattan are limited. We’ve been to the fancy and expensive Aquavit once, and to the more informal Aquavit Cafe twice. I hadn’t realized there was anything else like it, until the other day I stumbled upon Smörgås Chef in the West Village.

At 9:45 I stirred and realized I didn't put my alarm back on. It's amazing that I can actually wake up without an alarm, sending me into a hyper "OMG I HAVE TO CHANGE INTO CLOTHES SUITABLE FOR THE OUTSIDE WORLD TO SEE ME IN AND PEE AND DO OTHER STUFF REALLY QUICKLY" mode. I actually didn't have to be in the lobby to go to brunch until 10:15, but I'm slow. Very slow. Trust me; we're all surprised I even got into college.

Just got back from lunch. Didn't realize until this morning (thanks to another CHer) that this place existed. Apparently there are two others, one on W. 4th Street and one on 2nd Ave at 49th St
