XO KitchenBy The Feisty Foodie Feb 07, 2008A strange twist of events found me at XO Kitchen last night...I'd had plans with Cookie to go shopping, but I wound up bailing because I thought I should clean. (I'm sorry!!!) But I wanted to hit up Chinatown to pick up some goodies for the Lunar New Year - knowing nothing of what exactly I'm supposed to pick up, and you're totally going to die of laughter after you hear what happened - even though that's insane. I avoid Chinatown on a regular basis because of the crowds, the hordes of tourists getting in your way stopping every 2 feet to look at counterfeit bags, and the old grannies who don't hesitate to hit you with their bag or... FULL REVIEWXO KitchenBy Eating In Translation Jan 11, 2008XO keeps a pot of soy milk (cup; $1) on a two-top warmer, ready for all comers. Not the most amazing food, but it was cheap, flavorful and fun. Highlights included the rice noodles topped with the restaurant's own XO sauce, studded with pungent dried mushrooms,... FULL REVIEWXO KitchenBy Ganjin Girl's Guide to Chinatown Mar 04, 2007An authentic Hong Kong diner - specializing in dishes from frog congee to pork chop over rice...as well as a range of tempting desserts (such as Tang Yuan, various Tong Sui and Mango Pudding.) Available in two convenient locations, XO Kitchen has a cheap, fun Hong Kong vibe - not too fancy - with menu specials pasted on colorful bits of paper on almost every wall space available.
