Dear Boo, It's friggin HOT out there. Seriously, what the F? A minute ago it was 70 degrees and I was carrying around a jacket for post 7pm wear. Now it's like New York has been temporarily transported to somewhere super tropical, like OH I dunno, THE CENTER OF THE SUN? The Boyfriend turned on the oven for about 4 minutes to toast a bagel and spontaneously combusted from the heat (he will be missed). I have taken 5 showers in the past two days and if my computer were waterproof, I'd be writing from there right now. This weather makes me sweaty, cranky, and may be the only thing on the planet to deter me from eating. The only things that...

After a visit to consistent ole Veselka for some schnitzel and barley, Justin and I walked off some of the Ukranian goodness by going the some three blocks to Sundaes & Cones on 10th Street. Being 70-year-old alter kockers (trapped in 20-somethings' bodies) we argued over who ate there first, that was our work out to build an appetite.

[sniff sniff] "This whole place smells like...pork." Neither Tina, Julie nor I should've been surprised that Momofuku Ssam Bar would smell like its most well-loved ingredient. When you enter a bakery you're not alarmed by the scent of the airborne...

I'm referring to my "diet." It seems that I fall into the trap of eating bad every Tuesday or Thursday, just because I have time before classes that I just wander around and end up finding something to eat that isn't good for me. Oh...whatever. I'm not going to try that hard for the sake of beauty or vanity. It's just not worth it. As long as I'm not gaining anything, that's fine with me. For mid-morning snack, I went down to TriBeca to Tribeca Treats for their cupcakes since I heard about them recently from the press and I remembered their booth back in the Chocolate Show the past November. I don't know what really drove me to go down...

apparently this place is well known. at least crystal and her friend had heard of it before. this ice cream parlor serves about 12 varieties of ice cream and more of sorbet. It serves a traditional smattering of american flavors and then some unique asian-inspired ones: wasabi and corn were some of the more unusual ones. (wasabi was particularly realistic, but neither were good as ice cream flavors in my opinion) they also had taro, lychee, sesame…pretty much waht you’d expect. i thought their ice cream was fine, but i guess the flavors didn’t appeal so much to me. if you want asian-flavored ice cream though, this might be the place for you. $3 for a small.

When the wait for a table at Chikalicious Dessert Bar was too long one night, we stopped into this bright, clean ice cream parlor in the East Village. They have slew of traditional and Asian-inspired flavors.

Friday was my boss' birthday, but he didn't didn't tell me until late in the day when I was running around town like a headless chicken trying to fetch the actor's prop wedding rings. So I ignored the boss' declaration and decided that his birthday would be on Monday.
