Okay - it's on the bare fringes of Chinatown, and it's not Asian food by far. But if you're in the area, you have to go to this place! Economy candy carries all of the old time stuff - chocolate cigarettes, satellite wafers, necco wafers, pez, and a ton o' gourmet chocolates like Lindt and Kinder. It's like being a kid in a--er, um--candy store? It's a nostalgic trip into heaven. Go. Enjoy. 3.75 stars FULL REVIEW

Lower East Side fooding

Even though it's close by, I don't take enough advantage of all the fooding opportunities in the Lower East Side. Economy Candy

Yesterday we cruised down to the lower east side before going to see Peter Pan. It is unbelievable how the lower east side has been transformed. There is still the flavor of "old new york" when you ramble through the streets. The storefronts are full of new retail entrepreneurs. Tons of new stores, new restaurants. Cutting edge stuff. I am looking forward to a warmer day to walk around and really enjoy the neighborhood. I have not done that since last spring and the growth in less than one year is huge. FULL REVIEW
