Kenka is one of a kind. The beer and sake are cheaper than any other place I've been in the East Village, and the menu is unlike what I've seen...anywhere. Because the portions are small and the prices smaller, you can afford to try some of the less ordinary menu selections without filling up or breaking the bank. On top of all that, there's the ridiculous atmosphere, cotton candy, and mochi ice cream for dessert.

Yesterday after work Youthlarge and I met up for pedicures in the East Village. Originally, our plan was to go to Dashing Diva on Smith and Dean (has anyone ever been to one of these?) and then hop on the B65 to Taro to finally check out the omakase situation, which came highly recommended to us by a PSG reader several months ago. Sadly, we had to abandon our perfect plan because Dashing Diva was completely booked. I usually only go to Rescue Beauty Lounge on Centre Market, but its location just wasn’t that convenient for us in terms of what we wanted to eat, so after much deliberation and kvetching, we decided to go to Spa Belles in... Weirdness on Thursday

Yesterday was kind of weird. My two problems were dinner and finding out that Blogspot is preventing me from publishing because they label it as SPAM! Why?! Especially it's been last September that I have been publishing. I'm hoping this won't continue to give me problems...my last hope is actually going to Typepad and get meself an account there. Ok, enough of my problems...I want to wallow myself in food. So here it goes. Starting from yesterday morning, I went back to Caffe Falai. It was about 8 AM, surprisingly there wasn't much bustle as I would imagine for a cafe or bakery spot. I had a hankering for some chocolate croissant and... FULL REVIEW

I originally had a very fond view of this place, but that's recently changed, giving it the dubious distinction of 1 of only about 2 places that I'm really displeased and negative about. Just came back from a run to Kenka for, yes, turkey testicles. (Don't giggle!) They just kept striking out on so many levels. 1) You can't order "to go". 2) It took an inordinately long time to get the order. 3) The $6.00 order turned out to be the size of four large lima beans.... 4) When I approached the waitress to give her the money, because I had to get going and it was getting late, I got an attitude in return. It's a real shame, because I'd planned to sample a few more things on the menu, and now I've got--well--a bad taste in my mouth about the place (no, it wasn't the testicles!). I seriously doubt I'm going back. Oh well FULL REVIEW
