Bix only serves lunch on Friday and so it was rather serendipitous that we decided to forgo the usual catered into the office Friday lunch. We went out without a plan and then remembered, that it was Friday and we could therefore lunch at Bix, a place that is perfect for an after work cocktail, but also serves pretty good food.

In the past I have had issues with the chicken breast. I can’t cook them and I always order the driest, toughest chicken breast that has about as much flavor as a tennis ball. Ever since I was a kid and my mother, who is actually a really good cook, would regularly make this rubbery chicken breast with a light mustard film, I have been quite afraid of this cut of meat.

This cool and stylin' place has a supper club feel from the 30's kinda vibe. Big bar, nice restaurant, great art and friendly people. Order any martini drink, especially Lemon Drops and Sidecars. Go old school here. If you don't have a resie, go early, 5:30 and tell them you'll eat quickly. But really, we go to this place to get our drink on. My friend Kellyann, who owns an ad agency in the area, and I (Janine) enjoy GREAT glasses of champagne regularly. This is just a great place to start an evening.
