The Cost of a Free BurritoBy Burritophile Feb 29, 2008Via LAist comes this story, of Chipotle's latest "open a store and get free burritos" stunt: One student reader phoned in from the line. "It is sooooo long. This is crazy and worse than Coachella. We're going to Whole Foods to get burritos." A scientific Google Map and how-many-footsteps-did-you-count study found that the line stretched a quarter mile. Why put themselves through an hour wait for a sub-par burrito? When forced, I go for the veggie burrito, because they give you a ton of guacamole if you ask for it. Mmmm...guacamole... She got a Burrito Bol, and I had a flash of insight. The ingredients are the same (with the exception of the Corn Chex), and the presentation is the same; why don't they just save us all a lot of time and taxonomical debate by calling the Burrito Bol what it really is?
