Anyway, after slapping me around a bit for not writing enough, Burritoeater put his money where, um, my mouth is and took me out to La Corneta down in Glenn Park. What a guy! I'm not exaggerating when I say there were minimally 40 people in line, all of whom were ordering for at least six of their friends who were table squatting. During the 40 minutes that elapsed while we waited, I waffled about what I always waffle about: what does the vegetarian order? Present were the usual three options: a regular burrito without meat, chile relleno, or suspect...

In a neighborhood of plus-sized megataquerias, La Corneta may be the most ultramega of all. But it’s a classy kind of ultramega, where tiled floors, towering archways, and vaulted ceilings lend an air of Latin American elegance. Best of all, there’s none of that neon, self-congratulatory baloney you get down the street at La Taqueria - although in our book, the burritos here compare mighty unfavorably with La Corneta’s Glen Park counterpart. Glen Park’s sole taqueria is a smaller, yet equally inviting version of La Corneta’s newer Mission location. Reading this in Millbrae, Pittsburg, or Fremont? Take BART virtually right to their front door. The extensive menu features a heavy emphasis on seafood, and let’s see if you can order their ill-named “super baby fish” burrito option and maintain a straight face while doing so.
