If you visit her site, you can see Amy has been busy doing some burger research. She knew about our quest for the best burger and had recommended Mo’s as a superior specimen. I ordered a cheeseburger ($6.35) medium rare and it was delivered bloody rare (which is within my meat eating range of doneness) so I dug in. It could have used another cycle on the rotating grill to give it a better sear. As prepared, it was of the tartare persuasion.

I was in town for Macworld and had been wanting to eat at Mo's Gourmet Hamburgers for a long time. North Beach and parking is never a good combo but I landed a spot 1 block away. It was a 30 minute parking meter so I had to eat fast. I walked in and immediately noticed this big spinning steel grill over an open fire...I'm already sold on this burger and haven't even tried it. I sat at the counter and ordered medium cooked cheeseburger with fries.

Of course, it was time for my 6 month checkup at Mo's. I'll swing by some time today to snap a picture of the place. Mo's is still without a doubt my favorite straight-up hamburger place in the world, as I've mentioned numerous times on this site.

I admit it. While most of the time I try to eat veggies, seafood, and lean meats every so often I crave a hamburger. And I am of the opinion that if you are going to eat a hamburger, you should eat the best possible one you can get your hands on. Let's face it, it's a lot of calories. It's an indulgence of sorts. Life is too short to eat lousy hamburgers. Or lousy anything for that matter, but that's another story.
