Though situated on the occasionally treacherous east end of 24th St., there’s a secure feeling inside Taq. San Francisco that’s a byproduct of not only the friendly guys who run it, but the belching tuba-pop oozing from the jukebox and, most obviously, the burritos that earned this corner shop the silver medal in our 2004 Playoffs and a quarterfinal slot in our 2006 Slab Scrum. It’s a down-home, neighborhood place that once posted a handwritten note on the wall explaining and apologizing for a 25-cent price hike; best of all, their kitchen holds the honor of producing the highest-rated slab on (Burritoeater) record – a 9.38-mustache colossus in February 2004. They may not be producing our favorite burritos in town these days, but their slabs continue to rate well, and the place remains on our short list of desert island taquerias. FULL REVIEW

Some people would say that it's pretty egotistical to name your taqueria after a city that's known as the top burrito spot in the world. If you're gonna proclaim that kind of greatness, you really should be able to back it up. I'm happy to say that Taqueria San Francisco does that, and more. FULL REVIEW
