I love "my girls." Whenever I go out with this group of friends, I feel elegant by association. All four of these friends are tall, blonde, and beautiful. I, on the other hand, am squat, dark-haired, and "interesting looking." Despite our differences, we joke that we are really five of a kind. Beforehand, we stopped by for drinks at the Salt House, a new restaurant in the Financial District of San Francisco. There, we shared conversation, sipped on frou-frou cocktails, and nibbled on plump and...

I remember back in the summer when the World Cup was on, when Belden Alley would be packed, and many a computer would be streaming the game (and inevitably slowing down the network). Well, I woke up one bright saturday morning, and I had a calling for some fusion. We are moving offices soon, so we decided to eat at House one last time before it is too far to walk to for lunch. They do have several specials every day though, even for lunch.

So my mom and I were again looking for a place to eat dinner the other night. We decided on The House, a restaurant I pass by all the time while going to Mo's. I went to The House many many years ago, and more recently (but still a long time ago) I also tried the bigger but now closed House over in the Sunset. I'd say that the original House on Grant was one of the earlier fusion restaurants - they started doing it way in the beginning, back when Oritalia was on Fillmore I think. Years later, I still remember House's delicious garlic noodles. The restaurant hasn't changed at all from what I can tell. The dining room is clean, simple and modern, not to mention rather small. We got a table near the window with a good amount of natural light still coming in.

Continuing my interest in exploring boutique restaurants in San Francisco, I bring you The House, which is now the only incarnation in San Francisco since its sister restaurant of the same name closed its doors out in the inner Sunset.
