I know SF is an expensive city. But I never expected dim sum to cost so much. Yank Sing has pretty good dim sum but it's very expensive and not worth the price.
The first picture has chicken egg rolls, stuffed crab claw, and phoenix tail shrimp. The eggs rolls were crispy but very greasy. They were some piece of chicken but it was

Yank Sing is good, but it's not nearly as good as it is expensive. In fact, it's about 4 times expensive as your standard Chinatown joint. It's good while you're eating it, but afterwards, as you are paying you feel the slightest tinge of regret. This meal, for 3 people, was $110. Onion Cakes Tasty and delicate. Dumplings These were horrid. Totally inedible. What was in them, we'll never know, but it was incredibly bitter and the texture was very mushy. Har Gow The shrimp seemed fresh, and there was not much filler. Siu Mai Tasty, as always. Bacon Wrapped Shrimp It's for items like these that we keep returning to Yank Sing,...

We went to lunch at Yank Sing, a t00-expensive, although high-quality, dim sum place today. It was $84 for lunch for 3, which really, is far too much for lunch, but it was tasty. Chicken Feet Decent. Stuffed Tofu Skins Tasty and not oily. These are actually worth the high price of Yank Sing, since they are usually so greasy elsewhere. Bacon Wrapped Shrimp You can't really go wrong with bacon and shrimp. Har Gow Tasty, firm little bundles of shrimp chunks with very little filler. Shrimp and Spinach Dumplings These tasted a lot like the har gow. Sui Mai These sui mai were made with high quality ingredients with very little...

We went to Yank Sing, the very expensive Din Sum place downtown today and it was very sad, as they were all out of sui mai. How a Dim Sum place can be out of sui mai, and not making any more that day is beyond me. The meal came to about $18 per person.

Yank Sing is a high end Dim Sum mini-chain. The dishes cater more towards a western palate than the china town dim sum places and it is MUCH more expensive. While the dim sum at Yank Sing is good and fresh, no one should pay $35 per person for dim sum that leaves you feeling a little hungry at the end.
