Rick came into town to visit Chris, Soo and I because his airlines benefits at his new job kicked in. He was here for less than 48 hours, so we crammed in as many activites as we could. We had two must visits while Rick was here: Koi Palace and The Golden Gate Bakery. We ate dim sum at Koi Palace though this was the first time we had to wait for a table. Not a big deal; we were happy to be there. Our next destination, however, was not as sunny. We went to the Golden Gate Bakery, and sadly found this sign.

Due to busyness (on Alexis' part) and laziness (on Giao's part) we didn't get a chance to eat anything until a late lunch at about 2:30 pm today. We went to Brother's Korean BBQ, ordered tons of meat, and cooked it up on our in-table, real charcoal grill.

Each year I throw the most amazing Oscar party known to man. Sometimes the food is themed to the movies, sometimes not. Yet prior to this party and to creating the menu for it, I try to at least see the five movies up for best picture. I just realized that I hadn’t seen even one:

Yes, I'm still alive. Family and friends have been extremely vocal letting me know that I've let them down by not keeping up lately. It's not that I haven't had any culinary adventures as of late, rather the new job is keeping me busy. In a good way. The ability to blog at work is now non-existent and the desire to sit in front of a computer in the evening has diminished. Let's see if we can strike a good balance.....

My brother and uncle were in town for July 4th weekend and wanted to take them to Brother's Korean Restaurant for a little bbq. When I lived in San Francisco, my korean room mate told me that Brother's Korean Restaurant was the real deal and should try to visit them when they arent busy. Well, there's always a group of people outside waiting to get in this place during the dinner time. Could it be that good? They do have 2 restaurants a couple of blocks away from each other on the same street.
